Jerry’s Baddle is a dual sport race that began in 2006 to honor a good friend, Jerry Beckwith, who had been diagnosed with ALS. The race was born out of a desire to keep his spirit and passion alive by raising money to help fight the disease that took his life and to foster the community he loved.

The race consists of 4 miles of whitewater kayaking through the Green River Narrows followed by 26 miles of road cycling with 4000 ft of cumulative climbing.

In the past nine years, the event has raised over $55,000 for NC ALS Catfish Hunter Chapter and over $10,000 for Green River Access Fund. Our focus on cash donations was very successful last year, and we’re hoping that the “ice bucket” craze of 2014 will help our participants solicit donations for our cause. Solo racers that recruit $150 donation will get free registration, and teams recruiting $250 donations get free registration.

Race T-Shirts & Hoodies
In 2013, we had great feedback on the Recover brand Tshirts from Green Light Ink. We will be ordering these again for 2015. Tshirts will be ordered for all racers, but the hoodies must be prepaid by early April.
